Vroom Vroom …

I had an awesome day yesterday. I went over to Santa Pod to see time trials while the bikers and car enthusiasts did their testing.

I was over there with Linz and we were meeting a friend, Andy, who races his bike. Being my first ever experience at anywhere like that, I relayed on Petrol Head Linz (she doesn’t like me calling her that, sorry huney, please don’t hit me πŸ˜† ) to answer all my questions. I tell you what though, she knows her stuff. I don’t think there was anything I asked that she couldn’t answer!!

Andy was doing extremely well on his very kewl bike, there was only one guy faster then him, so that’s not too bad. There were some such strange looking bikes, I didn’t know whether to laugh or to be amazed, I laughed in the end, I’m sorry if I offended anyone, but they were funny πŸ˜†

While we were waiting for the bikes to come around again some cars came on, a few of which were so funky πŸ™‚

This is the cool car. It is around 52 years old but OMG does it go. I think it was one of the top runner in the timing while we were watching. I was, for want of a better phrase, gob smacked!! It was just so unexpected. Then again, we took pictures of the drivers and it wasn’t so surprising once we found out who they were. πŸ˜†

Much fun was had, Linz and I will probably be doing this again, was a good day …

What I got up to =D

I have finally got a bit of time to upload some pics.

There is so much to update, I can’t believe that I left it this long πŸ˜†Β  Firstly I should upload the Wales photos, as I promised. It seems like an age ago that Linz and I visited there, all I can say about the place is just stunning and amazing landscapes and views. I had a great time with Linz, we must have driven through most of South West Wales taking in the beautiful landscapes, πŸ™‚Β  It’s astonishing how anyone who lives there gets any work done, I would just sit at a window all day in awe of the view. I expect that’s why Dylan Thomas lived and worked where he did, wow.
We stayed in a little place called St Clears and visited a few places while we were there, amongst which were, Tenby, St Davids and some places that I can’t remember how to spell πŸ˜†

As you will see in the photos, we made a few friends, the Welsh are such a friendly bunch …

Tenby Beach

Don’t do it Linz … πŸ˜€

Enjoying the View, isn’t it beautiful !

Lunchtime in Tenby, head for the closest pub πŸ˜†

I think she had had a couple by then πŸ˜† only jokin’ huney πŸ˜€

We never did find out the name of this castle, it was on the path to Dylan Thomas’s boathouse …

Dylan Thomas’s boathouse. Can you image this view from your office window … Wow

This is Carew Castle, we found it by chance when we were driving around. Unfortunately, it had closed for the day πŸ™

Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair,

“I can’t, I’ve just been to the hairdressers” πŸ˜†

This must be Rapunzel’s good looking sister hahaha

While in Wales, Linz made a couple of new friends, Casper and Sammy. They were real good fun to be with and remarkably had the smae accent as Linz πŸ˜†

The Pool Queen … yeah !

and, Kings of Table Football. πŸ˜€

Pals having a great time in Wales on Pebbly beaches πŸ˜€

Sun Sea and …Β Pebbles. We must rethink the next holiday …

So beautiful, breathtaking views that words can’t describe.

The Cathedral in the smallest city in Britain … St David’s

So as you can see we had a great time and I am really sorry for taking so long to put these pics up πŸ˜‰

Been to Wales and now back to work =)

Well, til then … Happy Crafting and Stay Lucky x

Its been a bit quiet …

I thought I would add a post as I have been a little quiet of late. It’s not that I haven’t done anything, there is always something happening…

I have recently been to see an Elvis tribute act who is really very like the King himself. His name is Simon Patrick and you might have seen him last year on a BBC programme called The World’s Greatest Elvis . He was invited to audition and made it through to the top 30 out of thousands!! So, you an believe me when I say he is good. His stage name is The Rebel, he’s a regular act at the Stardust in Benidorm and in between visits to Spain and back he gigs in the UK.

Watch out for him in your area, he is definitely worth going to see, if only to ogle his snaky hips πŸ˜† But, joking aside, he is incredibly entertaining and his love for The King is evident as it is easy to see that that he has been heavily inspired by Elvis and is a fitting tribute to his idol.

Aside from going to see The King, I have played a little poker, no results though :-(. Only got near the money, but just short, 3 times !!! You know the scenario, 7 paid and I get 12th place… suppose it goes that way.

On the poker front, there’s a lot of my buddies over in Las Vegas playing in the Main Event of the WSOP. There have been some casualties, but there are quite a few still in so I’m eagerly watching the live updates and funking for them all – Go on you Guys, bring it home … πŸ˜€

There’s a few Ideal World Craft shows in the pipeline, so watch this space and I will update with dates and times soon πŸ˜€ But, for now, Hina has left the building πŸ˜†

Happy Crafting and Stay Lucky xxx

There’s a lot in the pipeline so watch this space…

Had a Wales of a time =)

I was in Wales for a couple of days where I had a great time. The weather was fabulous, not the usual rain, so it was even better.

Travelling by train, it was surprisingly a shorter journey then I had imagined. It only took 3Β½ hours to get there, which wasn’t so bad. I thought that I would nod off and end up missing my stop πŸ˜† but instead, I managed to read most of one the poker books I had been meaning to, so it was a productive use of my time too πŸ™‚

I got to Bangor station at about 12.40 and was so grateful that the sun was shining, as all the times I had visited before I had to avoid big puddles. It was a real treat being there in the sunshine, I would experience the beautiful landscapes on a beautiful day…

Angie picked me up from the train station and off we went on our adventure to Anglesey. Driving around it was evident that Angie would end up with one browner arm then the other before the day was out πŸ˜†

Angie on the Pier at Beaumaris

We crossed over Menai bridge and headed for Beaumaris first, where there is a lovely beach and pier. You can even go over to a place called Puffin Island on a boat excursion. Then we just took a leisurely drive around the island stopping at scenic beaches and places along and ended up at a place called Bull Bay. Stopped there for a drink and just took in the fresh air and sun rays.

Some fluffy specks in the field, bleating πŸ˜†

Still on-route to Bull Bay, does this place exist?? πŸ˜†

A lone boat in Bull Bay

Another of Bull Bay, isn’t it just beautiful !! …

The next day we decided to go the long (or shortest, according to the TomTom ), scenic route home. OMG, little teeny tiny roads going up mountains in densely wooded areas with sheer drops. It was a route for thrill seeking roller coaster riders. I kept looking out for the flash so that I could claim my photo at the end . However, Snowdonia has to be up there with the most beautiful landscapes of the world. It’s so peaceful, with the exception of the odd bleat, and the views are breath taking. We did make it down the mountains in one piece, although I am not sure how, as my eyes were tightly closed for most of the way πŸ™‚

I thought I would share this experience as I managed to take some lovely pictures and thought you might like to see them… Enjoy πŸ˜€

Wow, talk about the scenic route !!

Next stop will be the Hilton at the NEC for the Create & Craft Experience Weekend …

Ain’t nothin but the Houndogs

Hey Guys

Hope you all had a great bank holiday weekend, even though the weather left a lot to be desired, then again, we don’t really expect much more on a bank holiday LOL ianandrobert.JPG

It’s still raining here in Northampton πŸ™ but I am still on a high from my Saturday night. I went over to a village called Stanwick, Lynsey had told me that there was a band, called the Houndogs, on at the local club. WOW, what a night. It was great, what an amazing performance from a band consisting of 3 brothers, they totally blew me away. It was one of the most lively, energetic and entertaining acts I have seen for a long long time. They are a rockabilly band that have so much passion for their music that YOU can feel it.

I was fortunate enough to meet the 3 brothers, Robert, Ian and Dave, they are the nicest people. They even entertained my idea of having pictures taken with them and signed a CD for me :-D. These guys really need to be signed !!! And, whoever sits around and thinks about it will be so disappointed when someone else pips them to the post.

When you watch programmes on the TV like X-Factor, Britains got Talent, etc, it amazes me that acts like these are passed by, there is never anything worth a second thought on these shows, so, get yourself onto their website, www.myspace.com/legendryhoundogs, and take a look at the dates and venues of their gigs. Get yourself down to see them, I promise, you will not be disappointed. They also have CDs available so buy one, you won’t want to listen to anything else ;-D

Take a look at the pics below πŸ˜€

Lynsey with Rob on the Guitar. Clare with Dave on the Drums and Me with Ian on the Double Bass

Aren’t these so kewl πŸ˜€

Balancing Act …

Two of my most favourite people in the world πŸ˜€ Janet & Graham, it was lovely to see them both again.

Room 11 is now in Room 101

As you know I used to have a proper job a while ago. I used to work in the IT world. I really miss the guys I worked with and so it was great to see some of them on Friday night. Trevor, the boss man of Room 11, had sorted out a kind of reunion, it’s a good job he did it as it wouldn’t have happened otherwise … So, thank you Trev πŸ˜€

We all used to work together in Room 11 of our building. It was a tight squeeze of at least 10 techies in one room with Trev and his assistant (Lynsey then Jen). A new manager came with an evil plot. He disbanded our team and we ended up scattered between 2 sites. At this point, some of us decided to leave as we were really unhappy, we missed each other and it wasn’t the same.

I hadn’t seen some of the guys for over a year and a lot has happened since then …. to all of us. New jobs, new news and much more. Congratulations to Jen, she passed her driving test, on her first go too !!!

We all missed a few of the guys, who didn’t turn up, it was the normal work phone call scenario, “I’m really not well, got a bad back….. got man flu…. ” You know who you are guys, it’s not 0n LOL. Next time eh?

Anyways, I thought I would entertain my blog readers by uploading a picture of all our ugly mugs πŸ˜€

Had a great day at the weekend

I had a great day out on Saturday with Lynsey, we went to Stow on the Wold and Bourton on the Water as planned, but then ended up in Milton Keynes for a Spanish meal LOL.

Stow was surprisingly quiet for a Saturday but it was nice to sit and chat without too much noise. We went to few shops and had some lunch. There were loads of antiques shops but I dont think I would have bought anything as most it looked way over my budget LOL

Lynsey’s sunglasses were murdered on the day, she dropped them and I managed to tread on them, the timing was perfect LOL.

ducks.JPGAfter having a bit of lunch we went off to Bourton on the Water to visit the Christmas Shop where the smell was so festive as you walked in. Its very surreal when its blazing sunshine as you walk into a room that smells like Christmas LOL – maybe thats what it feels like when itsbridge.JPG Christmas in Australia πŸ˜€

Well, we spent the rest of the day there in one of the pubs at the water’s edge and then sat on the grass watching the ducks bobbing on the water. Then to end it all drove off to Milton Keynes for a great meal where Lynsey’s handbag got drenched with red wine – tell you what, if any of her things could talk they would be saying “if you’re ever going with Hina again – leave us behind” πŸ˜€

Hope to visit there again soon on an equally beautiful day ….

A few more pics ..,

house.JPGJust off to the country manor for the weekend πŸ˜€ I wish LOL

Love to Ba and Sureshbhai

So sorry I have been quiet for a this long, but things have been happening …

The family suffered another loss recently, my brother-in-law passed away just after New Year while we were still coming to terms with our earlier bereavement. So within the space of just 6 weeks we have lost a Mother and her Son. It is so sad and there are no words really…

Ba & Sureshbhai

I pray for your souls to rest in peace and I will endeavour to look after the ones that are left behind trying to make sense of all this…

Love to you both always …

Hina Modha

Hi my name is Hina Modha, thank you for visiting.

I am a PaperCraft Designer, Demonstrator & Craft Workshop Tutor. I have been crafting for many years and absolutely love it. I design under the name of Aichem, hence, the name of the website πŸ™‚

Leaving my IT Project Manager job, to concentrate on crafts, was a scary prospect at first, but I must say, it has been the best decision I have ever made. I am so much happier doing what I love. I don’t get much time to do a lot else now, as I am constantly on the go with some project or another, but loving it all the way πŸ˜€

Since meeting the editor of the Create & Craft Club Magazine in July 2006, I have been contributing to the mag. This is really exciting and it’s a bit different. The instructions are filmed and then available online, so members of the club can see the cards made step by step. I have also been fortunate enough to have demonstrated on the Create & Craft stand at the NEC on a few occasions.

I am often demonstrating at various craft shows up and down the country, so come see me at a show near you LOL. It’s great to meet fellow crafters. There is so much talent out there πŸ˜€

I have designed projects for Stamp Addicts, based in Bedfordshire, for their TV shows on Create & Craft and demonstrated on their stands at shows. If you want to flick through pages, you will also find my card designs in the Lets Make Cards and Lets Get Crafting Magazines on a regular basis. These are off the shelf mags available at WHSmiths and supermarkets!!

Workshops are fantastic, it doesn’t matter if you are a beginner or more advanced, its just a great way to socialise and exchange ideas as well as being taught some new techniques.
I run workshops locally on a regular basis at the
Coleman’s Craft Warehouse in Rushden,
at the Kempston Stamp Addicts shop
and at Blue Haze Crafts in Chesham.
Please see the Workshop Schedule page if you are interested in joining in.

Recently I have recorded a TV show with Create & Craft channel, sky 661, and am due to record more with a live show coming soon. I feel incredibly privileged to have the opportunities I have and am still rather speechless.

PaperCraft Design, Workshops, Demonstration, ScrapBooking, I love pretty much anything to do with crafting and to take on projects that I have never tackled before. I recently knitted a wire and bead bracelet for my friend. I suppose I can add that to my list now πŸ˜‰

oa5w0665.jpgApart from Craft, my other pass time and passion is Poker!

I have played poker since Jan 07 and have been fortunate enough to play on TV games that have been aired on Sky Sports 2 and Channel 5!!
The first ever live poker tournament I played was the Ladbrokes European Ladies Championships when I became the bubble girl, I was pleased with the result but wish I had got to the final table. Next time the title is MINE πŸ˜€ Since then I have been on another TV tournament – the Party Poker Women’s World Open, I hope you caught that show, I didn’t manage to win, but I am working on a pokertastic comeback πŸ˜‰

When not crafting, I can normally be found at the Northampton Gala Casino, I play some of the regular poker tournaments with a whole host of friends I have made there, come join us, it’s fun LOL

I am hoping to play in the second BetFred Women’s Poker Tour. I wrote a few articles for the 2007 tour which where published in Poker Europa. Hopefully, I will be asked to do the same again for 2008, so watch this space πŸ™‚

I know it’s a strange combination but I don’t think I could be called β€œnormal” LOL.

Find out what else is going on my Poker & Craft worlds under the relevant Category πŸ˜€
Maybe I’ll see some you on the poker or craft circuit soon. I hope so…. LOL

Happy Crafting Everyone and
Stay Lucky πŸ˜‰
