Been to Wales and now back to work =)

I thought I would inform you that I have a few shows coming up this weekend on Create & Craft and Ideal World channels. I am doing an Event Special for the Craft Weekend so I hope you get to catch one of the shows – its well worth a watch as the products are fab … think Victorian 😀

Show times are:

  • Sat 25th Oct, 9am and 10pm
  • Sun 26th Oct, 9am, 10pm and 11pm
  • Mon 27th Oct, 3pm

The 9am Sat show has fairies and floral products and the 11pm show on Sun is Iris Folding. I am going to be a busy girl over the weekend and am frantically sorting out samples and demos this week.

I had a bit of a break and went to South West Wales last week with my buddy Linz, Once this weekend is over I will be uploading some of the beautiful photos we took. We had an eventful week so I’ll tell you what we got up to.

Well, til then … Happy Crafting and Stay Lucky x

Where has the sun gone??

After all the rain we had a little while ago, I thought we would see the sunshine again, but alas, no such luck. It has been miserable, rain, wind, a little peek of sun and then rain again !! It’s just not right.

I am now hoping for a beautiful October & November with the run up to CHRISTMAS !!! – there I said it.I just can’t believe how quickly life is just floating by. That must mean that I am getting old, very fast 😆

I remember when the summer holidays used to last for, ooo, at least 3 months, well, that’s what it felt like. But, now six weeks just flies by in the blink of an eye. I used to plan great stuff to do during the school holidays, whereas now, my mind is occupied with deadlines, craft projects and more deadlines 😆 Its all fun but I still need to fit in the long term plans I had for my life, like explore the Andes, see the Amazon Forest and visit the penguins in Antarctica. I’m sure I will get around to it soon 😀

Anyway, I needed to let you know that I have a scheduled show on Create & Craft/Ideal World on the 8th Oct 08 at 6pm. Hope some of you guys can catch it. It’s not iris folding this time, I can’t tell you what, but it’s worth a watch 🙂

I’ll be uploading some of the Decoupage and Iris Folding cards within the next day or two, so watch out for those …

Til then ..

Happy Crafting 😀

Show and Tell …

Its been a while since I updated and I thought that it might be nice to upload some pics of recent cards I have been making at demos. Using Paper Cellar products the cards haven’t turned out too bad 😀 Well, you can let me know if you agree or not 😆

On another note, please tune in on Sunday 28th Sept – I have a show at 9am which may interest you all. It is a multibuy bargain show, so get your pens to the ready…

If you have the time and live close enough, I will be demoing at Coleman’s Craft Warehouse in Rushden on Sat 27th Sept, come and say hello.

Hope to see some of you, til then …

Paper Cellar Cards :

A few ATCs

Sneaky show and one more =)

I wonder if anyone noticed that I sneaked into the Create & Craft studio and did a show last Saturday… I was asked to fill in, late minute, to do the 4 day deal show, which incidentally sold out within 25 minutes of being on air so that was cool !! I had a great afternoon with Howard, I was stopped mid-demo because of the sell out and we ended up doing the rest of the show as an extravaganza 😆

I do have a scheduled show on Monday, it’s another Iris Folding show, the last one was very popular and did sell out ater the show finished. There will be new designs on the upcoming one, so if Iris Folding is your thing, be sure to tune in to Create & Craft/Ideal World at 9am on Monday 25th Aug 08.

Hope you enjoy the show, let me know what you think 😀

Craft Day on Ideal World

I must apologise for being really late with my updates. I have been running around like a headless chicken for the last couple of weeks, nothing new there then 😆

I thought I would let you know that it is Craft Day on Ideal World channel (Sky 644, Freeview 22). It starts at 9pm tonight so you can look forward to 24 hours of crafting with free P&P !!! Ideal time to buy all the materials you need.

I will be there for the duration with the Pick of the Day, I am pleased to say. I can’t really say what it is but, but if you like fairies and flowers, it’s a must see 😀

There’s a few other bits that I am working on, which are still in the pipeline, so if you love craft, watch this space regularly and you might find something that interests you in the near future. It’s a shame things have to be so hush hush, but I am afriad I am sworn to secrecy 😆 Promise it won’t be to too long before I spill the beans …

Anyways, got heaps to sort out before I traipse over to Perterborough. So, until next time …

Iris folding show

I am really looking forward to doing the show tonight on Ideal World, even though it’s on at 11pm !!! It is an Iris folding show and there are some fab products with bargain prices to get you all set for Christmas. I’m not sure which presenter I will be working with, so it will be a surprise for me as well as you 😆

I can’t say that I am an expert at Iris folding, but it is so easy, so much fun and gives stunning results. Normally kits come with a templates so the hard work is done for you in terms of how to line up your papers. However, it is really easy to make your own templates so you can vary your results. This is something which you will see on the show tonight as I have made my own project templates for some of the cards. Usually the aim of iris folding is to do a pattern that spirals inwards so that it looks like the iris of a camera, hence the name of the craft, but it you want other effects, think a little more about other types of patterns, like stripes.

Strips of paper are needed and the best type of paper I have found is pearl paper, just because of the sheen, it looks beautiful. Again, don’t be limited, use any paper you have and cut your own strips, small patterns on the paper look lovely and if you don’t have any then stamp your own designs !!

All crafting is about imagination and improvisation, so have a go and see you what you come up with 😀

Have fun guys and if you happen to tune in to the show, I know it’s late, send in an email so I know you’re out there 😆

OMG, It’s that time again, ALREADY!!

I must be getting really old. I can’t believe how quickly time goes by, I am on the box again tomorrow morning, on Ideal World, with a Christmas kit!!

I, like a lot of people, hate going into a store in the middle of September and seeing a Christmas display, but with Card Making you really do need to start early. Especially, if you make to sell or give everyone you know handmade cards. It all takes time.

I must say, I haven’t made a start on my Christmas Cards, but I think this has spurred me on. Once I have put the show to bed I am going to have to start making my own cards, as there are a hundred and one ideas running around in my head. I will end up making a huge mess again 😆

For my christmas cards all the glitter, metallic card and everything else shiny that I can find comes out of my craft store. Love it, love it. But it still feels early – I will have to get some tinsel out and drape it over my crafting table 😆

Hope you can join me tomorrow on the show, if you do, send in an email – would be great to hear from you.

I’m back =)

The new Aspers Casino opened in Northampton in June and they had their first poker tournament last night.

Well, of course I had to go and have a look and see what the place was like. Quite an impressive place really, plush and luxurious. The tables are spaced really well, so there is plenty of walking space, I expect this will change if the place is popular.

The card room is excellent, the tables are lovely with padded rails, so no danger of the dealer flicking the cards over the edge and calling a misdeal when you have aces 😆

The tourney last night was a £50 freezeout with 43 runners. I did expect there to be more, but they haven’t really advertised the place, I didn’t even know it was open 😆

The structure was good, 5000 starting chips and 30 minute blinds. I got off to a good start, increasing my stack to double in the first 2 levels, but then went card dead. I hung in there, trying to keep myself afloat by stealing a few pots and my stack yoyo-ed. I was down to 3k at one point when the average was about 10k. I managed to double up a few times winning my races and stole a few pots here and there playing position and eventually ended up at the table with only 3 left.

We decided to chop it 3 ways, with the chip leader taking £610 and, as me and the other guy were evenly stacked, we both took away £500 each. What a result 😀

I hadn’t played for a while so it was a great boost, least I know I’ve still got it 😆

I’m Gutted …

I’m totally gutted to find out that Kara Scott & Jeff Kimber were casualties in the WSOP Main Event during day 5. Jeff went out pushing all-in with pocket Kings being called by pocket 9s. Yes, you know whats coming – a 9 on the flop sent Jeff out.

Kara pushed all-in holding KQ after seeing an Ace high flop with a King on board, unfortunately she was called by her opponent with A10. Coming 104th out of 6,844 isn’t a bad result for her, it was her first time playing the main event in Vegas, I cansee that this is going to be the start of many big tournaments for Kara 😀

Ho hum, there’s always next year for us all, I am definitely going to be there in Vegas, maybe even paying in the main event – better start saving for the $10,000 buy-in, worry about food and accommodation when I get there 😆
